Reunion postponed to 2021

Wherever you live at the moment, we are all united by the task of slowing the spread of COVID-19. The Ecole d'Humanité has therefore been closed since 16th March 2020 – for the protection of all. With a few exceptions, our students are back home again. We do not yet know how long it will take before we can resume boarding school activities at the Ecole.

Invitation to the Vernissage: Heads or Tails

We are happy to invite you to the opening of the exhibition Heads or Tails by Milica Dukic, at the Ruth Cohn Center, on Saturday 16 June at 17h, Ecole d’Humanité, in Hasliberg Goldern.

Heads or Tails
Milica Dukic

Milica Dukic is showing her large art pieces for the first time from two sides: She makes the process of the creation of her art visible. The exhibition title Heads or Tails is a playful invitation to move around the exhibited pieces. On one side we can see printed photographs from her home in Serbia, situations with people seeming randomly yet beautifully composed. We observe the smaller and larger embroidery stitches, neatly following the printed surface, the traces of wearing out of the print from the many times the canvas was rolled and unrolled to be worked on in countless hours of embroidering.
Previously the artist showed the reverse side only; now we get to see the whole picture. On the other side the canvas shows us the less conscious more intuitive and necessary part. This side appears to show the network of connections and a springboard for our own inspiration. Not manipulated by the artist, it gives us a glimpse behind the curtain.
